Drawing on a second monitor

LivePen draws on your primary display only. The toolbar and the drawing canvas both live on that screen, and other monitors aren’t covered.

Draw on a different screen

Make the screen you present on your main display in macOS. In System Settings → Displays, open the arrangement and move the menu bar to that display. LivePen follows the change, so there’s no need to restart it.

Plugging in, unplugging and waking up

LivePen resizes itself when displays change: when you connect or disconnect a monitor, change resolution, or wake your Mac. Your drawing survives the change.

Drawings are placed relative to the screen, not to the windows underneath. If you move a window to another monitor, the ink stays where it was.

Sharing a second screen

If you share or record a monitor that isn’t the primary display, your drawings won’t be in it. See Drawings don’t show in a recording or screen share.
